Charismatic Leadership Conference Offered
STEUBENVILLE, OH–Franciscan University of Steubenville is partnering with the Vatican-based International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (ICCRS) to offer the first-ever ICCRS Leadership Training Course in North America, September 12-19, 2010.
"This program has been held in Rome and the Far East and has attracted leaders from around the world," says Mark Nehrbas, executive director of Christian Outreach at Franciscan University. "Franciscan University is honored to partner with ICCRS to offer the school for the first time in North America."
The Leadership Training Course is designed to serve people of all ages from charismatic organizations and ministries worldwide who desire to enhance their service in the Church.
The program will include daily Mass, eucharistic adoration, confession, and times of praise and worship. International leaders in the charismatic movement, including Michelle Moran, president of ICCRS, and Franciscan University theology professor Dr. Alan Schreck, will cover two basic areas: the foundations and vision of the Catholic charismatic renewal (ecclesiology, baptism in the Holy Spirit, history of the renewal, a theology of mission) and practical guidance and ideas for ministry (elements of a prayer meeting, basic techniques for evangelization, the life of leaders).
Franciscan University of Steubenville is located 45 minutes from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The original Ark and the Dove Retreat House, where the renewal began in 1967, is just outside of Pittsburgh.
